Pinwheels

I found a pinwheel pattern in a magazine so I thought I'd try my hand at making some pinwheels of my own. Print a whole bouquet of pinwheel toys and put them in your flower pots and other places where they'll get some breeze and make your world more colorful.

You will need Adobe Reader (the latest version is recommended) installed on your computer in order to open and print these pinwheels. You can get Adobe Reader here (a new window will open so you can download it without leaving this page).

If you want to open the file in your browser window, just click on the link. However, if you want to download the file to view later, then right-click on the link and choose "Save Target As" or "Save File As." Then select where you want to save the file on your hard drive.

Pinwheel Assembly Instructions

Cut out the two joined pattern squares as one piece.

Fold in half so one pattern is on each side and glue together.

Cut along the diagonal lines from the corners toward the center.

Fold every other corner toward the center, being sure they overlap in the center.

Insert a thumb tack or push pin through the four points and center, then into a popsicle stick, dowel, pencil or straw.

Secure the exposed point with a pencil eraser.

Here are your pinwheels to print:
