Light Bulb Potholder



Tools and Materials:

Worsted weight yarn, approximately:

2.5 oz white

.5 oz silver gray

2 feet black

1 foot bright yellow or orange

Aluminum crochet hook size H (5.00mm)

Yarn needle

Make 2

Work Basic Circle in white for 6 rounds, do not finish off.

Row 7: Ch 3, dec, dc in next 10 sts, dec, dc in next st, turn (14 dc)

Row 8: Ch 3, dec twice, dc in next 4 sts, dec twice, dc in ch3, turn (10 dc)

Row 9: Ch 3, dec, dc in next 4 sts dec, dc in ch 3, turn (8 dc)

Rows 10 & 11: Ch 3, dc in next 6 sts, dc in ch 3, turn (8 dc)

Finish off

Row 12: Join silver gray with sl st in last dc of row 11, ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 6 sts, sc in ch 3, turn (8 sc)

Rows 13 – 15: Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 6 sts, sc in ch 3, turn (8 sc)

Row 16: Sc in same st, dec, sc in next 4 sts, dec, sc in next sc, turn (6 sc)

Row 17: Ch 1, sc in same st, dec twice, sc in next st (4 sc)

Finish off

Stitching (both pieces):

Edging:

Place both pieces together, right sides out

Join white to white where it touches the gray and sc around the white bulb, cut off

Join gray to white and sc around the gray base, sl st to 1st white edging st

Finish off

Weave in any ends

Hanging Ring:

Join gray with sl st to 2nd gray edging st on end of base, ch 8, sl st in 3rd edging st on end of base

Finish off
