Worsted weight yarn, approx.:

3 oz red

1 oz chamois

Size H (5.0mm) crochet hook

Box Front

Row 1: With red ch 27, turn, dc in fourth ch from hook, dc in each ch across, ch 3, turn – 25 dc

Rows 2-11: Dc in each st across, ch 3, turn – 25 dc

Row 12: Dc in next 2 sts, hdc – 3 sts, sc – 3 sts, sl st – 7 sts, sc – 3 sts, hdc – 3 sts, dc in last 3 sts, finish off – 25 sts

Box Back

Rows 1-11: Same as rows 1 – 11 of box front

Row 12: Dec, dc in next 19 sts, dec, dc in last st, ch 3, turn – 23 sts

Row 13: Dec, dc in next 17 sts, dec, dc in last st, ch 3, turn – 21 sts

Row 14: Dec, dc in next 15 sts, dec, dc in last st, ch 3, turn – 19 sts

Row 15: Dec, dc in next 13 sts, dec, dc in last st, ch 3, turn – 17 sts

Row 16: Dec using hdc, dc – 3 sts, to – 5 sts, dc – 3 sts, dec using hdc, hdc in last st, finish off – 15 sts

Fries

With chamois ch 24, turn, dc in each st across, turn, working in front loops, ch 14, dc in fourth ch from hook and all following ch, sl st to next front loop, sl st in next st, ch 17, repeat between *, ch 10 repeat between *, ch 12, repeat between *, ch 20, repeat between *, ch 10 repeat between *, ch 19, repeat between *, ch 12, repeat between *, ch 17, repeat between *, ch 14, repeat between *, ch 10 repeat between *, ch 12, repeat between *

Working in back loops sl st in first 2 sts, ch 14, dc in fourth ch from hook and all following ch,sl st to next both pieces working one extra sc in each bottom corner, sc around top of back, sl st to finishing sc, finish off.

Insert fries between front and back pieces, sew through all three layers. ((Fries worked in back sts are taller and should be against back of box.)) Sew several or all back fries to back of box. Sew several of the taller front fries to the back fries loosely.

Loop

With red join to back, 2 sts to the right of center, ch 5, sl st to the second st to the left of center, finish off.
