Note: The number of increases may have to be changed for certain yarns or hook sizes. Following the Basic Circle, increase as necessary to keep piece lying flat. Rnd 1: Ch 4, work 11 dc in first ch; join with sl st to 4th ch of beginning ch 4 – 12 sts Rnd 2 & 3: Ch 3 (( counts as first dc, now and throughout)), dc in same sp, 2 sc in next dc ((inc made)), inc in each dc around; join to 3rd dc of beginning ch 3 ((now and throughout)) – 48 dc Rnd 4: Ch 3, dc in same sp, dc in next 4 dc, * inc, dc in next 4 dc; repeat from * around ; join – 58 dc Rnd 5: Ch 3, dc in same sp, dc in next 5 dc, * inc, dc in next 5 dc; repeat from * around ; join – 68 dc Rnd 6: Ch 3, dc in same sp, dc in next 6 dc, * inc, dc in next 6 dc; repeat from * around ; join – 78 dc Rnd 7: Ch 3, dc in same sp, dc in next 7 dc, * inc, dc in next 7 dc; repeat from * around ; join – 88 dc Rnd 8: Ch 3, dc in same sp, dc in next 8 dc, * inc, dc in next 8 dc; repeat from * around ; join – 98 dc
